Oh these Islands that we've grown to love
In the middle of the sea
Have you ever wondered why that was
And why it was meant to be
I can only quote a theory
And though it be my own
These pebbles dropped from Heaven
Are God's personal stepping stones.
Cho: Oh these stepping stones to his place
Lying sprinkled cross the sea
Oh I hope to get to walk upon
If I've earned the right to be
If its true that he's a kind God
And doesn't like to be alone
Perhaps we'll get the chance to walk upon
His Golden Stepping Stones
Oh Hawai`i - Lovely Hawai`i
This is your destiny
For all the world the see
He has given you the stairway to his home
Perhaps we'll all get the chance to walk upon
His Golden Stepping Stones.

Egypt has its pyramids - Paris its cafes
London's known for all it's charm - which goes a long, long way
Rio is exciting and all the world agrees
The sunset down in Athens - a beauty you must see
But there's one place I'll never tire to be
Over in Hawai`i - feels like home to me
Give me old O`ahu - any time of year
Here among God's Islands - where love is everywhere.
So give me lots of sunshine - to keep me while I'm gone
Many hours of lovin' - 'til I come back home
I'll need you when I'm lonely - my thoughts are of you then
Back in old Hawai`i - where love has always been
Aloha Hawai`i - I'm coming back to you
Cradle me with romance; my love for you is true
Forgive me when I leave you - it's only for a while
I'll soon return to love you - with every passing mile
Give me old O`ahu - anytime of year
Here among God's Islands - where love is everywhere.

Lovely Islands - embraced by the ocean
Soft caressing breezes flow gently o'er her palm trees
(tell me don't you know)
Of those golden raindrops - sent down from up above
Cradled in a blanket of love - and nestled in the sea
Bridge: Beautiful Hawai`i - beautiful Hawai`i
You're - The World's Most Precious Treasure
That Island beauty - such a creation
A natural wonder - built with love in mind
(and with great perfection)
A gift from heaven - image of a paradise
Loveliness in her disguise - lying captured in a dream

In the spotlight - all eyes are watching
As he runs thru his show
He's sure of somthin' - of what he's doing
Sets the mood - don't you know
He can sing so soft and so high
He can bring a tear to your eye
He can rock - and he can roll
He'll do love - or he'll play soul
The young Hawaiian - he'll get you cryin'
When he's singin' his song
He's got that feelin' - to set you reelin'
As you listen along
Your heart will move to that deep bass sound
He'll touch your soul with the beat that he's found
He plays his music and he lays it down
He'll ease your mind - if you stay around.

Big Island - Big Island
Big Island - mighty island of Hawai`i
Oh the scenery - Oh what greenery
Simple but enchanting - perfect for romancing with you
The soft lazy thunder of her waves
Touch - so gently - on the sane to save those words just written
Telling you how much I love you.
Bridge: Friendly Island of the sea
Hardly touched by time - yes, one of a kind - oh
Makes you want to fall in love
With each star that smiles above - this Polynesian wonder
Lovely as a paradise should be
Oh, Big Island
And such peacefulness
Relaxing feeling from the sun caress
Dreams come true - for me and you on Hawai`i

Over on - the Island of love - I first saw her there
Swaying to a hula song
With her hands - she told the story of how it came to be
The Garden Isle of love - called Kaua`i
The myst'ry of the Island - holds the secret to romance
The rolling hills of splendor - the trees about them dance
Her hands express the meaning - while her smile just warms the air
As her hips reveal the rhythm that seemed nat'ral everywhere
Bridge: Oh Lady of Kaua`i - tell me more
And show me in your special way
About the Isle of love
Her story- so very ancient
As convincing as could be
While her body slowly telling
That Island song to me

Ka`anapali
- Where I Found You
By Doug Baker, 1985
I met her in Hawai` - she was walking all alone
On a sandy piece of heaven - with the moonlight shining down
We looked - into each other's eyes - I could see she felt it too
There something 'bout these islands - a familiar déjà vu
Cho: Ka`anapali - where I found you
The angels sing - we're back again
With love so true
We were sweethearts - from another time
In the this old land of Mu
Ka`anapali - where I found you
Remember how I promised - to always love you dear
I searched the whole world over - though it took ten thousand years
Yet never - had I ever - thought I'd still feel like I do
Here in these old Islands - this place that we once knew
Ka`anapali, where I found you.

I know an Island - where I long to be
Alone and lonely - in a quiet part of the sea
Oh Moloka`i - don't change your ways for me
Stay sweet and simple - the way things used to be
I need your old ways - need your sanity
Lie in the busom of your valleys so green
And for always - thru eternity
Oh Moloka`i - be a friend to me
Cho: Oh Moloka`i - sleeper of the sea
Friendly Island - Be a friend to me
I'll never leave your side - just you wait and see
O Moloka`i - Be a friend to me

Hawai`i - miss my Hawai`i
Once again I long - for my Island home
There's no palm trees - no evening sea breeze
Everything's at home - that's where I belong
Cho: On the other side of the world
There's a lovely Island girl
Longing just be be
Back home in Waikiki
There's no hula - nothing here like Kona
There's no mountain top - to make a wish upon
Until then - she'll be waiting - anticipating
For her return - there's just no place like home

He's the Son of Hawai`i - I'm here to say
He plays the `ukulele so fine
Playin' from the heart - he's a joy to hear
Taking you to another place in time
He's the master of the pickers - he's taught the bst
His fingers fast and true
He'll play the old Hawaiian - he can get you cryin'
He can pick the country too.
Bridge: Mr. `Ukulele play a song for me
Mr. `Ukulele please
Play a song of country, or an Island tune
Bring me back another memory
(They'd love ya back in Tennessee)
Some try to copy - but can't compare
He found it and he's next to none
He'll play anything that you want to hear
So come along and join the fun
Bridge:
So if you're in Hawai`i - come on by
He picks them all so easily
You'll love to sit and listen
Your will start to slippin'
Dreamin' of an Island melody
Bridge:
Finish: He's the fastest picker - none could be quicker
Mr. `Ukulele - Gee---
They'd love ya back in Tennessee

Guess the loneliest place - I've ever been - is Hawai`i
Every one over there (here) is with someone who cares - in Hawai`i
Oh how I wish I could hold her tonight
But she's so far away - it just doesn't seem right
For me by myself - in this paradise - called Hawai`i
The surf and the breeze - the ills and the trees - sing
aloha
It means nothing to me - for she's not with me - in Hawai`i
Oh you're lovely but lonely - for I've not my only
To share the beauty of you - your romance is for two
Oh, Hawai`i
Bridge: Every boy has his sweetheart
Every girl has a friend
I walk your beaches at sunset
Just pretending I'm holding her hand.

There's a place I know, where we can be alone
To help us find again, the love we let go by
Cho: We'll have all the Island's beauty
To help us, back again
We can count on her for romance,
She's a world of love, she's a friend
Please stay with me, over on Maui
Can't you hear her calling, come find your love in me
If it's meant to be, we'll find it there on Maui
For love is all around you see, more than any place I've been

Hey welcome to Hawai`i - and thanks for droppin' in
We're here to have a good time - so let the fun begin.
There's something here for everyone - from our musical family
Come join us for a little Island hospitality
Yes, welcome to Hawai`i - hope you can stay awhile
Keith will sing his Island songs - to Carmen's hula style
The Sons will entertain you - like you've never been before
And Melveen's back from Nashville - with another hit for sure
Danny plays the Hilton - try to see him if you can
And Al's still at the Palace - he's the South Pacific Man
The Society of Seven is a show you've got to see
Aloha to you all from us - Welcome to Hawai`i
Yes, welcome to Hawai`i - hope you enjoyed the show
Take with; you these fond memories - it's sad to see you go
Come back real soon to see us - and we'll do it all again
Remember in Hawai`i - here you'll always find a friend.

I'm going away - on a fun holiday
Those Islands are calling to me
She said that she'd meet me - will she disappoint me
Will she be there as planned - in Hawai`i
God knows how I've missed her - I'm longing to kiss her
Beneath that tropical moon
Will she keep me here waitin' - Is she hesitatin'
While I'm sitting here writing this tune.
Cho: Don't leave me here all alone
In Hawai`i - it's no good on your own
It's romance at it's best - and we all know the rest
Don't leave me here all alone
The airline she's flying - said they'll keep on trying
To find if my baby flew in
If she doesn't arrive - I don't think I'll survive
I'll start hurtin' all over again
She said how she loved me - just had to be with me
But I doubt she remembers her words
So I stare at the tide - with guitar by my side
Going over those words I told her.

Thru the years - I've come and gone
I've played my songs - about you
Now tired and gray - how the years slip away
Just one more time - I must see you
Hawai`i - you've been a friend to me
You've brought me melody - when I was blue
Than you for - all my dreams come true
And the joy that you - have given me
Cho: Lie me here - among your loveliness
Let your breeze caress me forever
Take a flower - from ev'ry Island
And throw them to the sea
Think now and then of me
Let me rest - in this land so cherished
And don't be sad - for I still live
As I travel thru - my soul's journey
I will carry - this love for you

We've rendezvous'd around the world - from the town
where we were born
Thru countrysides - over foreign tides - we've wined and dines 'til morn
Now I need you here beside me - on an Island by the sea
Come and join me my sweet Molly - and I'm sure that you'll agree
Oh forgiv eme for the pain I've caused - and for all the in betweens
Come join me my sweet Molly - I'll be waitin' in Waikiki
Cho: I'll be waitin' in Waikiki my love
Will ya join me over here
It's a long, long way from Ireland
But there's music everywhere
Your ramblin' man has finally found
His heaven by the sea
Won't ya join my sweet Molly
I'll be waitin' in Waikiki
In Rio how our hearts beat fast - there upon the beach
And I recall in Spain thru a pourin' rain - we danced on cobbled streets
Aye the years have all been dear to me - I've your lovin' memories
Come and stay with me forever - I'll be waitin' in Waikiki

Back again - here in ol' O`ahu
Me and my flyin' friends
Jeana's at home - couldn't get the time off
Really gonna miss her till then
I can look down - as we cross the Islands
I see the lights of Waikiki
K&C will be singin' at the Royal
I`ll stop by on Tuesday eve
Cho: Up with the stars - high above the ocean
Trying to keep my mind on the job
Thinkin' of her - feeling the emotion
In her arms is where I belong
2nd Cho: What a situation - losing concentration
What are we doing up here?
Let's cancel this here mission
I'll fly my baby over
We'll spend the rest of our time
Right down there

IS HAWAI`I
By Doug Baker, 6-17-1991
Have you ever sat down with a dictionary
Seaching for the meaning of a word
If you look up "Paradise out on the ocean"
You'll find it - under "H" - but have heard
There's another way to say Hawai`i
With a little word we all use everyday
It means friendship - it means heaven - its aloha
It means caring in such a special way
Bridge:
L - is for the Loveliness about her
O - is for O`ahu - we adore
V - its Very nice to be here once again
E - with Ev'ry beat of my heart
Oh these letters that spell love are for Hawai`i
Webster - didn't know his history
If he took the time to really know these Islands
They'd be listed - under L.O.V.E.

HAWAIIAN BLUEBy Doug Baker, March 1991
Ridin' on a jet palne to the Islands
A business call that I must do alone
Kisses and goodbye from my Jenna
Our "I Love You" will have to be by phone
The wonder of Hawai`i has such meaning
A gift to this ol' world so long ago
Such loveliness should not unnoticed
But its magic doesn't work without her
Cho: So I'm blue - Hawaiian Blue
I'm so sad - from missing you
Oh I'm blue - Hawaiian Blue
In the middle of this paradise, I'm so blue.
At night time - Its really oh, so lonely
I just can't sleep - wishing she were near
By dawn - my last tear rop falls upon me
As I stare out at the sea and she's not here.
